Hello Seattle Podcasters,
Please read carefully because this Meetup will be very different than usual! We will be participating in, and providing feedback on a Podcasting assignment in Kathy Gill's University of Washingon Graduate Program Podcasting Course.
The Course Description:
In this course, students explore how businesses and other organizations are using podcasts as a form of social marketing technology. Throughout the quarter, The class explores how to conceive, plan, create and distribute a compelling audio story using Web 2.0 technologies.
The Course Assignment:
Students organized themselves into four teams based on topic interest. Each team develops (1) a proposal for a podcast show for an organization to use as part of its marketing (or internal) communication mix as well as (2) one pilot episode. Part of the proposal is the pitch, which is what you will hear Tuesday night!
Our Role
So, on Tuesday Night, we will be hearing these pitches and providing feedback. The pitches will be approximately 15 minutes in length and be followed by 15 minutes we can spend on discussion.
For those that don't have podcasts already, this will be a fun way to absorb some interesting ideas and get some advice. For those that do have podcasts, I really encourage you to attend and provide your support and feedback. Given the nature of the course and the course participants, I anticipate that the presentations will be well thought out and delivered and provide value to veteran podcasters and new podcasters alike.
Remember, we are meeting at the UW. Please get there on time or arrive early (or be prepared to sneak in after one of the presentations. We don't want to distract any presenters by shuffling in and out of the room. On campus parking is $5. Tell the parking attendant you are going to the Communications Building (room 126).

Thanks, I am looking forward to a fun departure from the normal meetup and look forward to seeing you there! Until then, happy Podcasting!
