I was curious what everyone thought of having the meetup at a diner with milkshakes instead of a bar with beer. I enjoyed the change of scenery, and the space to spread out.

I was very happy with the meeting.
Must confess, I haven't been to any of the previous ones so I don't know if I would have liked the bar meetings or not. One thing though...bars are noisy and if the purpose is to get together to talk and podcasts, is a bar the best place? I know what even being in a Starbucks can be noisy if your trying to have a conversation on the phone (with a bluetooth earpiece). And everyone is really nice and I'll try to come to more of the meetings...when is the next one? |

I did think this meeting place was one of the most conducive to discussion. The noise level was much lower than other places and we had plenty of room to ourselves.

I liked it. Everyone was animated and excited. I have been to most of the meetups and this was one of the best.

Right! I like a resturant that's not too noisy. My feeling ... Podcasting is about hearing what people are saying (and recording it, and distributing it) and a bar/nightclub is kinda too noisy to discuss those issues.
I like the fact you can order a meal because when we meet - it's dinnertime and most people are hungry. Unless we an come up with a better location, I think the current one works out OK for me. The location is also is good. And it looked to me like a lot more than the 8 or 9 people who RSPV'd showed up - I think we must have had over 20 people, which was bigger than last time. I'll probably write up something on this to my Webmetricsguru Blog |

I much prefer the diner to the bar. I like to be able to look colleagues in the eye when talking to them and it's tough to do that in the dark nooks of a bar. Plus over dinner is a better way to make a connection with people.
Thanks to everyone who gave me concrete suggestions; this group is great for that. Ask a question and within one minute 3 or 4 people will shout out solutions off the top of their heads. You guys keep me sustained... so thanks! Liz Big Green Blog coming soon: "This Week In Search" podcast! |

I like bars. I met my wife at a bar. And beer is a great social lubricant.
